With the advent of the Internet, pornography has moved from the forbidden shadows to the edges of mainstream, with countless XXX sites littering the World Wide Web. One such lucrative venture is Jenna Jameson’s ClubJenna, which has helped the adult movie actress’s networth ballon to $10 million.

The former porn star has parlayed sex into big business and even though she is officially retired from front and center of the camera, her behind-the-scenes collaborations in the X-Rated industry is far from over. Her videos are still some of the most downloaded of all time and her pin-up- girl-like pics still have porn aficionados drooling. Briana loves Jenna, one of her movies released through ClubJenna in 2001, grossed $1 million in the first year alone.
Born, Jenna Marie Massoli, the blond bombshell entered the world of porn at the tender age of 19, leaving stripping behind. Well on a pole in a stripclub, that is. Almost 2 decades, 160 movies later and 4 directoral efforts, the 37-year old is now a mother, twice married and divorced, with a string of porn awards to her credit.
Jameson is also an author and her 2004 book, “How to Make Love Like a Porn Star-A Cautionary Tale,” which spent a six weeks on the New York Bestseller list. Another venture in the Jameson Empire is a HBO reality show where she looks for the next breakout porn star.
Apart from becoming rich, Jameson was able to break through to mainstream and assimilate better than any other porn actor. She managed to get a sneaker endorsement, do voice over for Family Guy and make the rounds on CNN, Fox News, NBC among others, to plug her bestseller. PETA even used her in their ads against the chicken industry.
Seems she hasn’t been called The Queen of Porn for 'nothin,' for she certainly knows how to rule her empire. Though she reportedly regrets entering the adult film industry, she is living large on the millions made and hosts a reality show where she picks other young women to send down the path she supposedly said is froth with emotional, physical and psychological 'quagmire.'
A few others have hit the jackpot in selling sex: actors like Jesse Jane and Ron Jeremy have surpassed the million dollar mark but this is more the anomaly than the norm. Those in front of the camera don't usuallly strike it as rich as those behind the lens and those who peddle the wares. Many young girls, misguided by the claim to fame and riches, think they will follow in Jenna's footsteps and they don't or won't.
So is this a success story?
Like the Queen of Porn herself admitted, the sex industry can chew young naive girls up and spit them out broken literally and figuratively. Exploitation can run rampant and the psychological toll can be daunting.
