A suburban Chicago judge issued an order of default in a breach of contract suit against porn star Jenna Jameson when she failed to show up for court.
DuPage County Judge Patrick Leston entered the order of default Wednesday against Jameson, who was not present and did not send a lawyer to argue against the breach-of-contract lawsuit brought by Ted Bulthaup III, owner of Hollywood Palms Cinema in Naperville and the Hollywood Boulevard Cinema in Woodridge, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Friday.
Leston said he would withhold a final default judgment against Jameson until the theater owner documents his losses from the porn star's failure to show up for screenings of her 2008 film "Zombie Strippers!" at his venues March 24-26.
Bulthaup said Jameson's agent sent him "a vague doctor's note" about a "medical emergency" shortly before her scheduled appearances but he later learned she attended a birthday party for blogger Perez Hilton in California on the night of one of the screenings.
