Some new and resurfaced Tito Ortiz accusations concerning long time foe Chuck Liddell have illuminated again recently, and could very well be the reason for his replacement at UFC 115, and also responsible the death of his third fight with Liddell.
Last year when the (below posted) video surfaced showing the former MMA Legend and UFC champ " Iceman" Liddell literally passed out.
In his chair during an interview on Good Morning Texas, the incident was quickly dismissed by his friend and UFC president Dana White.
As a case of," too much cold medication" that [Liddell] had supposedly taken before going on the air. The rumor surfaced again this year during the taping of this seasons Spike TV televised reality show.
The Ultimate Fighter; given new life this time by none other than Liddell's arch nemesis, and opposing coach on this seasons series, Ortiz.
Ortiz was then subsequently quoted by John Morgan, MMAJunkie's lead reporter who attended the season 11 "Ultimate Fighter" media day, and interviewed Ortiz regarding the subject.
"I think [Liddell] had an alcohol problem, maybe his ego got the best of him; he is one of the baddest men on the planet; so no one is going to tell him, 'No.' You can do what you want." Ortiz said. "Thank God that Dana White gave him an intervention, and he's sober now," Ortiz said. "He's been sober since November, I'm very proud of him."
For the record, those claims have been adamantly denied publicly by Liddell, and it seems it has now caused some new tension between the two former champions. Recently, on her twitter.com account, "Tito's" wife, and mother of their twin sons, Jenna Jameson went to bat for Ortiz, and supported her husbands claims.
To add to this (as yet) unsolved mystery, the upcoming UFC 115 main event, Chuck Liddell vs. Tito Ortiz III, which was previously scheduled, has now been "axed," and Ortiz will be replaced by Rich "Ace" Franklin who will fight Liddell. Could the REAL reason have anything to do with with these new resurfaced alcoholic allegations brought forth by Ortiz, and Jameson?, I'm willing to bet that it does.
